ISABEL ROSENBLITT DE WAGNER
June 8th 1955 - October 27th 2013

I can remember the day I was introduced to Mima like it was yesterday. She was young and beautiful. We developed a quick friendship even though we were dating different people. We soon lost the other people and got closer.
It did not take long to understand she was a complex person who to this day I do not fully understand. What I can tell you she loved adventure and I believe that I went on most adventures she attempted. Lucky to be alive from several of them like running out of gas taking the boat to Kalama from Portland and forgetting the gas and as the engine stopped as a big oil tanker was coming towards us to needing to rescued in the mouth of a river going into the Atlantic 2AM.
She was the only bridge partner I had and felt most comfortable with her sitting opposite me always believing we could defeat anyone. She had culture, grace and style. She was far more successful than I was and one of the hardest working persons I have ever known. I did dominate her in ping pong for more than 17 years when she defeated me 3-2 and never played me a serious game again.
I will miss her. Words can not describe the void I now have. I will always love her and she will have a place in my heart forever. She is now at peace and has no pain.

My mother was an amazing woman filled with a passion for life and adventure. I will always cherish our relationship, especially as I became an adult. She gave me the best advice about life, work ,money, and being happy. I appreciate so much the love of traveling she passed on to me, and the trips we shared in the last 10 years. We were fortunate to make numerous trips to Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, and Perú. We often found ourselves in situations which led to immense laughter and fun. Above all else, my mother showed me how strong a person she was; stronger than I could ever imagine. She faced so many adversities through her illness, but none of those stopped her from enjoying life. I will always love her, think of her often, and tell my children what an amazing Memee they had. In honor of her love of sailing I think of this quote and her relentless fight to enjoy life:

"You cannot control the wind, but you can adjust your sails" ~Yiddish Proverb

No te olvidaré
Maite

In Chile we use to say "the" before the name of persons, specially for women, like "la Mima"; and in her case "THE MIMA" expresses better her powerfull character.
She was a person who did not go unnoticed trough life, she was important for almost all of us who met her.
She had her own and intelligent opinion in so many subjects, she was a great hostess (in great partnership with Mark, of course), she was very helpful whenever she had the opportunity.
She enjoyed life intensely; in her words "it has not been invented something too sweet", she loved sailing, nature and animals so much, specially dogs, all dogs: I remember that she did not even get angry at a stray dog that pissed her pants on a trip to Chungungo.
Trips with her were always fun and she never got without ideas for a new one.
She was so brave through her illness, fighting it for so long and letting us have more of her for more time.
It seems to me that Mima did everything she wanted to do when she wanted to and that she had a truly right and happy life.
